The first conference dedicated to tRNAs was held in Cambridge, England, in 1969. Since then, this annual meeting has become a major event for sharing the latest advances and discoveries in tRNA biology and its applications. The conference has been held twice in Japan, at the 10th edition in Hakone and the 17th edition in Chiba.
tRNAs are recognized as key molecules in protein synthesis. However, many questions remain unanswered regarding their biogenesis, maturation, and modifications, as well as their roles in translation, signaling, and as regulators of gene expression. Their physiological impact is highlighted by human diseases caused by tRNA dysfunctions.
Moreover, tRNAs are now seen as a promising new modality for future therapies. This molecule remains a fascinating subject of study.
